1. Rental Agreement:

   1.1. By entering into this agreement, the renter acknowledges having read and understood these terms and conditions.

2. Rental Requirements:

   2.1. The renter must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license.

   2.2. A valid debit or credit card in the renter's name is required for the reservation and security deposit.

3. Reservation and Payment:

   3.1. Reservations are confirmed based on vehicle availability.

   3.2. Payment is due at the time of vehicle pick-up, and accepted forms of payment include credit/debit cards.

4. Rental Period:

   4.1. The rental period begins and ends as specified in the rental agreement.

   4.2. Extensions must be requested at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to availability.

5. Cancellation Policy:

   5.1. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the reservation start time may incur a cancellation fee.

   5.2. No-shows will be charged the full rental amount.

6. Vehicle Pick-up and Return:

   6.1. The renter is responsible for inspecting the vehicle for pre-existing damage upon pick-up.

   6.2. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received, with a full tank of fuel.

   6.3. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the rental vehicle. A €300 cleaning fee will be charged for violations.

7. Maintenance and Repairs:

   7.1. The renter is responsible for routine maintenance during the rental period.

   7.2. Repair costs for damages resulting from negligence or misuse are the renter's responsibility.

8. Insurance:

   8.1. Basic insurance is included in the rental cost; additional coverage options are available.

   8.2. The renter will be held responsible for damages not covered by insurance, including those resulting from:

         a) Reckless driving

         b) Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxicants

         b) Water damage due to river crossings, flooding the cabin, engine or other mechanical components

         c) Damages to the vehicle's undercarriage 

        d) Damages done by animals

        e) Interior damage.

9. Traffic Violations and Fines:

   9.1. The renter is responsible for any traffic violations or fines incurred during the rental period.

   9.2. Administrative fees may apply for processing fines.

10. Limitation of Liability:

    10.1. Lessee is not liable for personal belongings left in the rental vehicle.

    10.2. Our liability is limited to the terms outlined in this agreement.

11. Governing Law:

    11.1. This agreement is governed by Icelandic law, and any disputes will be settled in Icelandic courts.

12. Prohibited Activities:

    12.1. Off-road driving is strictly prohibited.

    12.2. The renter must not sublease the vehicle to a third party.

    12.3. Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly forbidden.

13. Additional Charges:

    13.1. Late returns may incur additional charges.

    13.2. Fuel charges will apply if the vehicle is not returned with a full tank.

    13.3. Cleaning fees for excessive dirt or stains may be applied.
